Have you had the experience of being with someone who is dying or grieving and not knowing what to say, do or feel? This seminar is a must for those wishing to “companion” people in their unique life and death journeys.

 Oakridge Co Op Redevelopment Information Session

Curious about what is happening with the Oakridge Co-op Redevelopment? Bring your questions and join us for this Zoom meeting to hear Perry Leong’s presentation. As Redevelopment Project Manager, he will go over details about what’s to come for this space, along with timelines and other interesting facts.

Join us monthly as we welcome a variety of guest speakers that are connected to our community. You will have the opportunity to learn more about what is happening around us, share your thoughts, and ask questions. Whether it’s a politician, police officer, or a local business owner, come listen and gain more insight to what’s happening around us.

  Tech Talk  

Mondays 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. via Zoom

Join Sarah Monday mornings to learn about different technology and how to use it safely. Topics vary from week to week and include: Netflix, Android and Apple tablets, Scanning Old Photos, and How to Use the Calgary Library Online Catalogue

  OSA Walkers  

Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. 

Connect with others to walk and talk while enjoying the benefits of exercise and fresh air. Walkers meet at the community center (9504 Oakfield Dr SW), and create a walking plan together.  Enjoy a relaxing stroll or go on a speed walk, as you set your own speed. All levels of ability welcome. No registration needed! Please note this is a self-guided activity with no first aid available.us at the Oakridge Community Centre parking lot for an enjoyable walk around Oakridge.

  Coffee & Crafts  

Tuesdays 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. via Zoom 

Bring a coffee and a craft, artwork, sewing or whatever your interest is, and connect with others! Show off what you’re working on, discuss different crafts, and find some inspiration for future crafting endeavors.

Thursdays 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. via in person / Zoom

Like a book club, only easier! Two movies will be chosen each week to review together as a group. Participants take turns moderating the group weekly. Watch one, both, or none of the movies and come enjoy this fun chat.

  What’s Your Story? Genealogy 101

Do you love learning about your history? This genealogy class will get you started on the right path of finding out your history. Already have experience? We’d love you to share your wisdom. Are you wondering about DNA testing? Do you have a brick wall? Not sure where to find records?  In this discussion group, we will pool our collective knowledge to help each other answer these questions and more.

Do you love gardening? If so, this group is for you. Whether you are a beginner or master gardener, you'll have fun while sharing your knowledge and learning tips on how to grow food and flowers in our gardens and homes. Topics will rotate weekly based on participant interest. This activity is open to Oakridge residents of all ages!
