Now Hiring: Manager - Oakridge Seniors Association

The Oakridge Seniors Association in the SW community of Oakridge is building a Village Hub to provide practical assistance, social and educational activities to help our aging neighbours continue to remain in their homes and enjoy their network of friends and activities in the neighbourhood they love.

We are funded by grants from the Government of Canada, New Horizon program and the Calgary Seniors’ Resource Society. Reporting to the Oakridge Seniors Association Board of Directors we are seeking an experienced, resourceful and collaborative leader to help us build our innovative program.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):

  • Service, Program and Event Planning and Management: Create/organize and implement services, programs and events.

  • Volunteer Management: Recruit, screen, orient and support volunteers.

  • Community Connections: Establish connections with community organizations and members.

  • Marketing & Communications: Work closely with the Director of Communications to assist with communications to members and community.

  • Administrative Management: Upkeep virtual office, upkeep website, manage membership and handle membership inquiries and requests.

  • Research: Work closely with research team to organize and implement a community needs assessment.

     

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Social Work or related field

  • Experience supporting older adults in community settings

  • Experience in program planning and management

  • Volunteer management experience

  • Basic knowledge of website and content management and writing and posting

    content on social media platforms

  • Advanced internet skills, knowledge of MS Office Suite and G-Suite

  • Criminal record check including the vulnerable sector

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently

  • Flexible in evolving duties and expectations

  • Strong customer-service mindset
