About the Event

Dr Kattan will talk about the evolving transportation landscape as related to autonomous, connected and electric vehicles, their potential safety, operational, social and environmental impacts and possible pathways to sustainable transportation future.

Lina Kattan is a Professor of Civil Engineering at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary, Canada. She holds the Urban Alliance Research Chair in Transportation Systems Optimization with the City of Calgary. She is also the director of the NSERC CREATE program in Integrated Infrastructure for Sustainable Cities (IISC) that is conducted in collaborations with other Universities across Canada. Dr. Lina Kattan ‘s research program at the University of Calgary focuses developing solutions to Urban transportation problems, specifically related to applications of Emerging Transportation Technologies. She obtained her PhD in Transportation from the University of Toronto.
